What is Tropics? 


Tropics is a regional club lacrosse program located in South Tampa, FL aimed to further the level of training for South Florida female lacrosse players. The goal of Tropics is to introduce female lacrosse players to travel lacrosse, increased training intensity, and higher level coaching. Tropics Lacrosse is in partnership with Tampa Palms, West Tampa Wolves, FishHawk Coyotes, St. Pete Dragons, and South Tampa Sticks.


Tropics plan to have one High School team (9th-12thgrade), one 14U team (7th-8th grade) and one 12U team (4th-6th grade). Each team will have 16-20 players on their roster. Evaluations will take place SUNDAY, MARCH 31st at the STS fields at Anderson Elementary. Evaluation times can be found below. Please check-in prior to evaluations to receive player bibs. If your player would like to tryout, but is unable to make the scheduled evaluation, please email Players selected through the evaluation process will be sent a registration link within the week after evaluations via email. If your player does not make a team, they will be invited to participate in the STS Summer Developmental Programming.

Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesday from 6:00PM to 7:30PM beginning May 6th and ending June 19th at Anderson Elementary. 



Each team will participate in 2 tournaments, one play day, one summer camp, and one beach clean-up/team bonding event. Event dates can be found below.

  • Beach Clean-up and Team Bonding, April 27th, St. Petersburg, FL

  • Sunshine State Games, May 17-19th, Plantation, FL

  • Play Day, TBD, Tampa, FL

  • Camp, TBD, Tampa. FL

  • Rippin’ At The Ranch, June 22-23rd, Lakewood Ranch, FL



Tropics has an all female coaching staff with collegiate lacrosse experience. Coaching assignments will be announced with player selections.


The cost is $650 per player and includes Tropics Summer Program, uniform top, uniform bottom, and practice pinnie.
